What is the opportunity?

We are looking for an experienced Stockyard / Labourer to join the team at Oakey Beef Exports. You’ll be working full-time, Monday to Friday afternoon / night Shift 2.00pm -10.20pm, with occasional opportunity for Saturday work and overtime. This role would be perfect for someone who has experience handling livestock, is dependable and works well in a team environment.

 

What skills are we looking for?

  • An interest in livestock handling and processing
  • Good livestock handling skills (Experience is a requirement)
  • A current firearms licence is also required or have the ability to gain a firearms licence
  • Be physically capable of bending and squatting
  • Be able to work unsupervised
  • Work as part of a team in a Livestock yard environment
  • Be reliable and keen to learn
  • Be able to communicate with livestock managers and supervisor

What experience are we looking for?

  • Knowledge of the Export Meat Control Act and associated regulations
  • Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Knowledge and experience of electronic scanning systems
  • Experience in warehousing and logistics
  • Supervising and development of staff.
