Environmental Compliance Officer

Opportunity

Oakey Beef Exports, part of the NH Foods Group, is one of Australia’s largest and longest operating beef processing plants!

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Officer to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager and Chief Engineer, you will ensure our environmental authority is in constant compliance, assist with implementing Oakey policies and procedures, and manage environmental projects, audits, and regulatory relationships. This is a full-time Monday to Friday role based 28km west of Toowoomba.

 

What skill are we looking for?

  • Strong knowledge of environmental compliance and management systems
  • Ability to develop, implement and maintain environmental management plans
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong research, reporting, and data entry skills
  • Medium to high computer literacy
  • Ability to liaise effectively with management, staff, and regulatory authorities
  • Knowledge of biogas systems is advantageous

What experience are we looking for?

  • Degree or diploma in a relevant environmental or scientific field
  • 2–3 years’ experience in environmental compliance or a related role
  • Experience in abattoirs or meat processing environments is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct audits, investigations, and environmental projects
