Supporting the communities where we live and work is an important part of who we are. Through active engagement and meaningful initiatives, we aim to make a positive difference in the places we call home and support the regional communities that uphold our business.
One way we do this is by backing local events that bring communities together and celebrate regional agriculture. This March, our Oakey plant is proud to support two much-loved events across the Darling Downs: the Oakey Show and the Toowoomba Royal Show.
The 118th Oakey Show, taking place on Saturday 14 March 2026, is a highly-anticipated event in the Oakey calendar that celebrates the region’s strong agricultural heritage. Our Oakey plant has proudly supported the show for more than 30 years, illustrating our deep commitment to our local community.
Each year, the Oakey team contributes in a variety of ways to help bring the event to life. Over the years, this has included donating beef for the show canteen, helping raise funds for local groups through popular steak sandwich sales. The team also hosts a marquee at the showgrounds where visitors can meet staff, learn about employment opportunities at the plant, and connect with the community. In recent years, our brand partner Chef Jason Roberts has also joined the event to host live cooking demonstrations, giving showgoers the chance to sample some of Australia’s Premium Beef Range.

Later in the month, our Oakey plant will also support the 161st People First Bank Toowoomba Royal Show, one of Queensland’s largest regional shows, held from 26-28 March 2026. This year marks six years of involvement in the Toowoomba Show. Each year, thousands of showgoers attend to enjoy livestock competitions, local produce, entertainment and community exhibits that showcase the best of the region.
At the Toowoomba Show, our Oakey plant supports a variety of Show competitions, as well as supplying some of the Best Black Angus Beef in the World: Angus Reserve.
Supporting regional events like the Oakey and Toowoomba Shows is a direct commitment to achieving our Group Mission Goals and Values. As a major employer in the Darling Downs, we recognise the importance of contributing to events and initiatives that empower and celebrate the regional communities that uplift agriculture in Australia.
We’re immensely proud to continue supporting these iconic regional events and look forward to another successful show season.
