Our General Management team recently travelled to Japan to attend the Nipponham Group (NHG) Awards, which recognise outstanding achievements across the global NH Foods Group. Held on the 8th of June in Tokyo, the NHG Awards recognise business sites within the Nipponham Group that have made outstanding contributions to business performance and corporate value enhancement during the fiscal year. A key requirement is that sites actively promote initiatives aimed at realising a culture of compliance and challenge.
Members of the Board of Directors and executives from the Processed Foods and Fresh Foods business divisions attended the ceremony, where trophies were presented to representatives of the award-winning sites.
We are proud to share that our Australian operations were recognised for their contributions during the 2025/26 financial year, receiving recognition for our efforts across sales, environmental stewardship, livestock management and sustainability.
Our Oakey processing facility received the Premier Achievement Award, the highest accolade presented at the NHG Awards. Selected from award-winning operations across the global NH Foods Group, this award recognises the site that has demonstrated the most outstanding overall achievement globally. The Premier Achievement Award was proudly accepted by Oakey General Manager, Brett Williams.

In addition, Oakey was awarded the Fresh Meats Business Division Outstanding Achievement Award. This award recognised the team’s efforts in improving productivity to meet growing global demand for Australian beef, while consistently maintaining processing volumes. These achievements contributed to both sales volume and net sales exceeding budget and the previous year’s results. Our Oakey plant was also acknowledged for its environmental efforts, including reducing annual carbon dioxide emissions through the conversion to natural gas boilers and effective use of biogas.
Our domestic sales team, Beef Producers Australia (BPA), received the Fresh Meats Business Division Excellent Achievement Award for its success in expanding sales of premium beef within the Australian domestic market. Through the stable supply of premium, high-quality beef, BPA made a significant contribution to sales and profit growth.
Overseeing NH Foods Australia operations, our North Sydney head office was honoured to receive the Fresh Meats Business Division Excellent Achievement Award in recognition of our role in leading the value chain across cattle feeding, processing and sales operations. The award acknowledged our contribution to achieving budgeted profit outcomes, while continuing to strengthen stable supply systems. It also recognised the progress made in advancing environmental initiatives and developing the next generation of talent to support sustainable growth.
Our feedlot, Whyalla Beef, was also recognised with a Fresh Meats Business Division Excellent Achievement Award. The award was received for the team’s commitment to planned feeder cattle procurement and rigorous livestock management, enabling the stable supply of premium, high-quality beef. Whyalla Beef feedlot was recognised for achieving record profit while proactively progressing initiatives focussed on reducing environmental impact and the development of future industry leaders.
To have four areas of our Australian business recognised at the NHG Awards is a proud moment. These awards reflect the focus, innovation and commitment that drive our operations every day, while reinforcing our shared goal of delivering the joy of eating to millions across the globe.
