NH Foods Australia is proud to partner with Angus Australia in delivering the NH Foods Angus Foundation Cadetship, a unique opportunity for aspiring young leaders to immerse themselves in the red meat industry.
Since its launch in 2023, this program has demonstrated our commitment to fostering the next generation of red meat industry professionals. Our inaugural cadet Chloe Plowman and 2024 cadet Toreen Denyer gained invaluable insights into the beef supply chain while developing their skills and expanding their professional networks during their time with us.
This four-week cadetship offers an in-depth experience across key areas of our operations:
- One week at Whyalla Beef feedlot on the New South Wales–Queensland border, where cadets dive into feedlot operations, including feed milling, weighing, tagging, and processing cattle, along with learning about cattle management.
- One week at each of our processing plants: Wingham Beef Exports on the New South Wales mid-north coast and Oakey Beef Exports in southern Queensland, one of Australia’s largest and most technologically advanced facilities.
- One week at NH Foods’ North Sydney head office, working closely with marketing, sales, shipping, documentation, and production teams to explore our branded beef programs.
Following their time within NH Foods, the successful recipient will complete their cadetship by attending the Marcus Oldham Rural Leadership Program in Geelong, Victoria. Recognised as one of the nation’s longest-running rural leadership courses, this intensive five-day workshop develops the skills and knowledge necessary for participants to excel in leadership roles within their industries and communities.
