Record breaking 65th Texas Show

Posted July 2026

Cool weather wasn’t enough to keep people away from this year’s Texas Show, with record crowds turning out across the weekend for the 65th annual event.

For the 15th consecutive year, our team operated the Whyalla Beef BBQ, serving up a feast of our Angus Reserve Black Angus Beef to hungry showgoers all weekend. If the queues were anything to go by, this year’s menu was a crowd favourite.

The almost 2,000 strong turnout was evident at the canteen, which enjoyed its biggest year yet. Almost 350 steak sandwiches, more than 250 brisket tacos, almost 250 Big Ones, more than 100 serves of smoked BBQ ribs and around 80 tasting plates were served across the weekend. The team also achieved its highest number of menu items sold in a single day.

Returning for his third Texas Show, our brand partner Chef Jason Roberts once again drew a crowd as he cooked over an open fire, showcasing how simple cooking techniques can bring the best out of any cut, and let the beef do the talking.

An Angus Reserve cube roll was also donated for the annual auction, raising $630 for the Texas Show Society, with all proceeds supporting the Society’s ongoing work.

Events like the Texas Show are only possible thanks to the help of volunteers, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who generously gave their time to help run the Whyalla Beef BBQ. Our team prepared and served meals, and kept the canteen running from open to close, and were an integral part of making the weekend a success.

Thank you to the Texas Show Society for once again putting on a fantastic event. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
