The Texas Show is a much-loved local event held annually in the New South Wales-Queensland border community of Texas, and is a favourite on the calendar for our Whyalla Beef team. It’s a classic country show and it’s the kind of event we’re proud to support year after year.
The rain couldn’t dampen spirits, with the canteen firing on all cylinders and serving close to 1,000 meals across the two days. This year’s canteen embraced a street food-style menu, with bites starting at just $3, through to $25 top-tier tasting plates featuring our Angus Reserve Black Angus Beef. This year’s standout menu item was the Brisket Tacos!

Our Brand Partner Chef Jason Roberts was back once again, serving up another delicious top of the range tasting plate of our Angus Reserve Black Angus Beef. His yearly attendance at the show has clearly left an impression on the Texas community – so much so, his fire pit made an appearance in the Texas State School’s scale model!

A big thank you goes out to the Whyalla Beef team volunteers who gave up their weekend to help in the canteen. Events like this wouldn’t be possible without their support, and it’s always great to see the community coming together over great food. We’re so proud to play a part in such a well-loved event and can’t wait to see you all there next year – rain, hail, or shine!
Keep up with us on:
