The team from our domestic sales arm Beef Producers Australia (BPA) once again exhibited at the Metcash Food Expo, one of Australia’s largest national trade shows for independent retailers, suppliers and industry leaders.
Held from 12–14 July at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC), the expo attracts thousands of attendees from across Australia to discover new products on the market, discuss emerging retail trends and connect with partners from all across the independent grocery sector. Running since 2004, the expo has been held at the GCCEC each year and has grown into one of the industry’s premier events. This year’s theme was Partners Powering Growth and is part of Metcash’s commitment to becoming an indispensable partner to their customers and suppliers.
Exhibiting for over two decades, the expo was our team’s first opportunity to showcase our recent recognition as Metcash’s Meat Supplier of the Year, following our win in May.
Throughout the three-day event, we showcased our Oakey Black Grainfed Beef, Glenyarra Pastures and Nature’s Fresh Natural Beef brands, connecting with existing customers while introducing new audiences to our premium branded beef programs.

A highlight of this year’s expo was the addition of live demonstrations by our brand partner, Chef Jason Roberts. Across five sessions, Jason used Oakey Black Grainfed Beef to demonstrate practical knowledge that retailers, butchers and foodservice operators could apply in their own businesses.

The demonstrations covered wet-aged beef handling and storage, whole muscle breakdown and portioning, premium steak cookery, secondary cut utilisation, pressure cooking techniques, yield optimisation, retail and foodservice opportunities, and the benefits of branded beef programs.
The sessions attracted strong crowds throughout the expo, with attendees taking the opportunity to ask questions, learn new techniques and try Oakey Black firsthand.
Thank you to the Metcash team for another successful event, and to everyone who visited our stand.
Keep up with us on:
