Taking place each May, the Royal Queensland Awards are among the most prestigious in the country, and this year our brand Angus Reserve Black Angus Beef received another medal in the Branded Beef Awards.

Formerly known as the Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show, the competition is now known as the Royal Queensland Awards, operated by the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA). The awards span multiple food and beverage categories including branded beef, lamb, dairy, wine, beer and spirits, celebrating quality Australian produce and the industries behind it.

Since commencing in 2009, the Royal Queensland Branded Beef Awards have continued to evolve into one of Australia’s most comprehensive branded beef benchmarking programs. Entries are assessed by Chief Judge Elaine Millar alongside an expert judging panel made up of chefs, meat scientists, retailers and food industry professionals. Exhibits are then cooked to precise criteria so the beef can be judged in its most perfect state, and then judged on criteria such as tenderness, flavour, juiciness and eating quality.

Our brands have proudly participated in the Branded Beef Awards for 14 years. In that time, we have been awarded 24 medals, including seven gold medals and three champion titles.

The brands entered over the years include Manning Valley Naturally Grassfed Beef, Angus Reserve Black Angus Beef, Oakey Premium Wagyu, and Nature’s Fresh Natural Beef.

One of our greatest achievements in this competition is our brand Manning Valley Naturally, which is the most awarded grassfed beef brand in Royal Queensland Awards history. Through consistent success nationwide, it has also become Australia’s most awarded grassfed beef brand.

Our ongoing participation in the awards provides us with an opportunity to benchmark our measure against others on the market, stimulating continuous quality improvements across the Australian beef industry. This in turn supports the delivery of premium products to our customers, helping us to deliver the Joy of Eating always.
